Weather permitting, a continental lifestyle flourishes with tables and chairs on the cobbled streets.
Both a working harbour and a tourist attraction, boats are chartered all year round for sea angling and scuba diving, and the best quality fish on menus in the local restaurants.
The Sutton Harbour Marina and
Queens Anne's Battery Marina
add to the atmosphere, and pleasure cruises and water taxis ply for trade.
On Plymouth Hoe are monuments to Sir Francis Drake (Spanish Armada fame) as well as the WWI & II armed forces momuments.
Also within close walking distance are the

National Marine Aquarium,
The Theatre Royal and
The Pavilions.
Smeatons Tower lighthouse and a putting green are open in the season. Warships and international ferries are regular sights in Plymouth Sound, which is bordered by the County of Cornwall.
The City Centre is modern and there are large department stores, shops and a daily local market.
About 10 minutes from Casa Mia is the Theatre Royal and the Pavilions Music Venue, and the same distance to the cinema complex with 16 screens,
ten-pin bowling, two night clubs, and fast food outlets. The Marine Biological Association is a short walk through parkland.
The
National Marine Aquarium,
Plymouth Gin factory and
Barbican Theatre
are all very close to us. The Barbican is renowned for it's art galleries, featuring local artists, including the late Beryl Cook & Robert

Gipsy Moth Returns to Plymouth
On 27 May 2007, 40 years to the day that Gipsy Moth IV first sailed into the historic maritime City of Plymouth, following her first solo circumnavigation, Gipsy Moth once more was welcomed back to the city, completing her second global voyage.
Returning to rapturous applause and celebrations, Gipsy Moth was greeted by a flotilla of over 100 vessels as she sailed into Plymouth Sound and docked at West Hoe Pier.
The weather was perfect with great visibility a stiff breeze to fill the
Moth's sails and sunshine in abundance to add to the magic of the moment.
A two minute walk and you will enjoy this glorious view.
